Labour Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) Colin Smyth is under investigation following allegations that a hidden camera was discovered in the lavatories at Holyrood.

According to reports, parliamentary authorities have launched a probe into the incident after the device was allegedly found in a toilet facility within the Scottish Parliament building. Smyth, who represents South Scotland, has yet to publicly comment on the claims.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Parliament confirmed that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness and has been referred to the police for further investigation.

The Labour Party leadership has also been briefed on the allegations and is said to be monitoring developments closely, while political opponents have called for transparency and swift action to uphold public trust in parliamentary institutions.

The investigation is ongoing, and no formal charges have been brought against Smyth at the time of filing this report.
