A 66-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of another woman was linked to the disappearance of a high-value Rolex watch, according to UK police.
The incident occurred earlier this week at a residential property in southwest London, where officers responding to a welfare check discovered the lifeless body of a woman in her 70s. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Detectives confirmed that a luxury Rolex watch belonging to the deceased was reported missing from the scene, prompting suspicions of theft and foul play. A post-mortem examination is underway to determine the exact cause of death.
Metropolitan Police stated that the 66-year-old suspect was known to the victim and is currently being held in custody for questioning. “We are treating this as a targeted incident, and investigations remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances,” a spokesperson said.
