Police are investigating the death of a woman at Lux nightclub in Belfast City Centre in the early hours of Sunday morning. Authorities were called to the venue at approximately 02:20 GMT following reports that two women had fallen unconscious.

Upon arrival, officers found that one of the women, aged in her 20s, had died. The other woman was rushed to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment.

A spokesperson for Lux nightclub expressed their condolences, saying, “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the parents and family during this very difficult time. Our focus is now to help the police with their investigation and our staff wellbeing.” The nightclub will remain closed on Sunday evening.

Hospitality Ulster also responded to the tragic news, with chief executive Colin Neil stating, “Nobody should ever go on a night out and not return home.”

Police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward as they continue their investigation.
