Madrid, Spain – Kylian Mbappe, the French striker, was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid on Tuesday. The ceremony followed his completion of a medical earlier in the day, after which he signed a five-year contract with the club.
Club president Florentino Perez presented Mbappe with the iconic No. 9 shirt amidst cheers from thousands of enthusiastic fans gathered at the stadium.
“Wow,” Mbappe exclaimed in Spanish, addressing the jubilant crowd. “For years I’ve dreamed of playing for Real Madrid and today my dream has come true,” expressed the 25-year-old, formerly with Paris Saint-Germain.
“I’m a happy boy. I’m going to give my life for this club,” Mbappe added passionately.
While his new teammates commenced training on Monday, Mbappe, who recently captained France during the Euros, will enjoy a few additional days off before beginning his season in the Spanish capital.
